Guangdong Microbial Culture Collection Center (GDMCC), established in 1987, is affiliated to Guangdong Institute of Microbiology (GIM), South China. GDMCC is a member of the World Federation for Culture Collections (WFCC), and the largest professional culture collection in South China, currently holding more than 20,000 microbial strains. GDMCC has been one of three culture collections for patent biomaterials application authorized by State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) and a member of international depositary authorities under the Budapest Treaty on the international recognition of the deposit of biomaterials for the purposes of patent application since 2016. In addition, GDMCC has passed the CMA, CNAS and ISO 9001:2015 quality system authentication.

We are dedicated to: 1) innovate and develop the techniques of new microbial resources mining and protection, and provide technical supports for microbial resources access and protection; 2) isolate, identify, collect and protect the functional microorganisms for life science research and industry development; 3) develop an integrated culture product system and provide the microbial resources sharing services for the research, industry and testing; 4) provide public services of the identification, preservation, quality evaluation and operation skills training on microbes or microbial products.

 GDMCC welcomes the deposits of published, unpublished or patented microbial strains as well as orders for microbial cultures.
